Day Shift Registered Nurse (RN) PRN

Summary

The Staff Nurse is a licensed professional responsible for maintaining the standards of the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. The RN will assess, organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for Emergency Department patients. In performing his/her professional practice the RN is responsible for maintaining quality cost effectiveness and guest relations. Care will include individualized, holistic, family centered, and safe care. Customer service is a priority and is expected to be a top priority of the RN.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs laboratory point of care testing and all CLIA waived testing approved by the Laboratory Director.
  • Follow up on all lab specimens with accurate documentation and physician notification.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on the narcotic inventory form and reports any discrepancies to the Nurse Manager immediately.
  • Performs all daily lab and equipment checks for Quality Assurance.
  • Assists with follow up phone calls when needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and accurately documents patient charts.
  • Responsible for delegating appropriately to Radiology Technician, Registration Clerk, and EMT-Paramedic.
  • Monitors supply every shift and reports when noted.
  • Review company emails throughout every shift as this will be the primary means of communication.
  • Accurately documents any incidents and reports to the Nurse Manager and Physician on duty.
  • Uses biohazard containers correctly.
  • Comply with all federal regulation including but not limited to HIPPA, CMS and CLIA.
  • Empties sharps containers in a timely and safe manner.
  • Performs all other duties as requested by the Company.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree Nurse or higher Registered
  • Nurse with current Texas license
  • Minimum of 1 year emergency room experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred but not required)
